Job Overview
Ministry of Poverty Alleviation & Social Safety (PASS) is recruiting for Assistant Manager – MIS/IT in Islamabad. One vacancy is available, and the position is based in Islamabad.
The role sits within the Programme's management unit and works under the overall supervision and guidance of a supervisor. The main focus of the job is technical support for the effective operation of the PGEP MIS and IT systems.
The Assistant Manager works with the MIS Consultant on customization, testing and operationalization of the PGEP MIS so that it matches Programme reporting requirements, and supports Partner Organizations (POs) so their MIS data entry and reporting is timely, accurate and complete. The work also covers mobile applications and digital tools used for Programme interventions and field monitoring, online dashboards and digital reporting tools, and day-to-day IT needs such as networking, hardware and software, internet connectivity, user access and website or web-page management.
Data backup, security, user access controls and confidentiality of Programme information form part of the role, along with system documentation, user guides and troubleshooting records. The Assistant Manager also coordinates with software developers, MIS consultants and service providers on system updates, bug resolution and technical enhancements, and supports integration of MIS outputs with M&E requirements.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years of education in Software Engineering, Computer Sciences or a related discipline.
- Eligible qualifications listed in the advertisement include BS Computer Science (BSCS), BBA (Information Technology), EMBA (IT), BE Computer Science, MSc Information Technology, MSc Information Technology Management, B.Com Information Technology, Master of Information Technology (MIT), Bachelors of Theology, MS Computer and Information Technology, and MSc Management Information System.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, mobile applications development and working with MIS, preferably in the development sector.
- Experience and skills in IT, network management and web page management.
- Maximum age limit is 45 years.
Responsibilities
- Monitor basic data-entry issues and coordinate with POs and the MIS Consultant for timely resolution of system-related problems.
- Provide technical support to PMU and PO staff in the effective use of mobile applications, smartphones, tablets and digital data collection tools.
- Support the development and maintenance of online dashboards, Programme progress updates and digital reporting tools.
- Maintain basic system documentation, user guides and troubleshooting records so that PMU and PO users can use MIS/IT systems consistently.
- Support the integration of MIS outputs with M&E requirements and assist in generating timely Programme monitoring and reporting information.
- Provide timely and practical technical solutions to MIS/IT issues, escalating complex matters to the relevant consultants or service providers where required, with minimum disruption to Programme operations.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

- The position is offered on a contract basis at grade PPS-8.
