Job Overview
The Ministry of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives, Government of Pakistan, has advertised one contract position for a Consultant – Economics at grade SPPS-III. The vacancy is listed on the National Job Portal and is open to applicants across Pakistan.

The position also involves working with government agencies, private sector entities and international organizations so that economic strategies line up with national development goals, and mentoring junior economists and staff within the Planning Commission.

Eligibility & Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience is required.
- A master's-level or postgraduate qualification in one of the economics fields listed in the advertisement is required.
- Accepted qualifications include MSc Economics, MSc Applied Economics, MA Economics and MSc Development Economics.
- Accepted qualifications include MPhil Health Economics, MPhil Environmental Economics, MPhil Environmental Economics & Policy and MPhil Economics and Finance.
- Accepted qualifications include MS Agriculture Economics and MSc Agricultural Economics, including MSc (Hons) Agricultural Economics and MSc (Hons) Agrieconomics.
- Accepted qualifications include MSc Econometrics and Statistics, MSc Econometrics, MSc Economics & Finance, MA Economics & Finance and MSc International Economics, Banking and Finance.
- Accepted qualifications include MSc Finance (Economic Policy) and MSc Home Economics (Food and Nutrition).
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply economic models to assess the impact of various policies and strategies.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to inform decision-making processes.
- Assist in developing strategies to promote sustainable economic growth through effective management of the available resource base.
- Oversee the collection, analysis and interpretation of economic data related to economic interventions in terms of policies and projects.
- Prepare comprehensive analytical reports and present them to stakeholders.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior economists and staff within the Planning Commission.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement in economic analysis and knowledge sharing practices.
- Interpret complex socio-economic data and provide actionable insights periodically.
- Carry out any other task assigned by the Secretary, Member, DCPC and Minister PD&SI.
