Eligibility & Qualifications

• Candidates must have 16 years of education or a higher degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Sciences from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
• A minimum of four years of post-qualification professional and technical experience in environmental analysis is required, with an increasing level of responsibility over that period.
• Applicants must show demonstrated experience in developing Initial Environmental Examinations (IEEs), Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and Environmental and Social Management Plans (EMMPs) as required under public sector environmental regulations.
• Experience of preparing Social Assessment Reports (SARs), Social Management Plans (SMPs) and Resettlement and Rehabilitation Action Plans (RAPs) in compliance with the ESF is required.
• The age limit for this post is 18 to 45 years, and both male and female candidates may apply.
• A domicile is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• The Deputy Program Officer (Environment) prepares environmental analysis work for the project, carrying professional and technical responsibility that increases with the level of the assignment.
• The post-holder develops Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) for project activities, meeting the requirements set by public sector environmental regulations.
• The post-holder prepares Environmental and Social Management Plans (EMMPs) that set out how environmental and social effects of project work are to be managed.
