The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) is looking for an Assistant Director DevOps Engineer to join its team in Lahore.
This role sits within the authority's technology wing, which manages the digital land record system for the province.
The engineer will be responsible for building and maintaining the automated pipelines that move software from development to production, ensuring that the systems supporting land records remain reliable, scalable, and secure.
Day-to-day work involves designing continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, managing cloud infrastructure, and automating configuration and monitoring tasks.
The engineer will collaborate closely with developers, system administrators, and QA analysts to streamline the software development lifecycle.
This is a hands-on technical position that requires both deep expertise in DevOps tools and the ability to work within a cross-functional team.
The role also carries authority to establish and maintain automated processes for deployment and infrastructure management, and to ensure that software development and operations align with industry best practices.
The position is based at the PLRA headquarters in Gulberg III, Lahore, and is a full-time government job under the Punjab Recruitment system.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- Qualification: BSCS, MCS, or BCS (4 years) in Computer Engineering/Sciences.
- Experience: Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years) with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Age: 24 to 34 years.
- Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible.
- Domicile: Domicile is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for software deployment and release management.
- Establish and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Automate software configuration management and system monitoring tasks.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure applications are designed with scalability, reliability, and security in mind.
- Implement and maintain cloud infrastructure environments (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and ensure high availability and fault tolerance.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and security.
- Identify and resolve operational issues and troubleshoot production incidents.
- Implement and maintain containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
- Implement and manage automated testing and quality assurance processes.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging DevOps tools, technologies, and industry trends.
