Job Description

The National Telecommunication and Information Security Board (NTISB) is looking to take on an Assistant Director Incident Management on a contract basis. This job sits inside the government’s cybersecurity and telecom security setup. You’ll be the first line of defense when IT services go down.

The role involves recording, classifying, and restoring failed offerings as quickly as you can. You’ll pass unresolved incidents to the right aid groups and keep members in the loop on their incident status.

you’ll also log all incident details, assign categorization and prioritization codes, and tie incidents to related records like changes, issues, and known errors. This job is for experienced IT professionals who work well under pressure. You’ll own every incident and service request from begin to finish.

The function demands sturdy diagnostic skills and the ability to escalate primary incidents to the Incident or Issue Manager. You’ll also escalate incidents that threat breaching Offering Level Agreements. This is a merit-based post with one vacancy.

This job is critical to national telecom and information security.

Qualification

Candidates demand at least 16 years of education in a relevant field. The ad sets dozens of acceptable degrees, such as BS Computer Science, BS Cybersecurity, BS Information Technology, BS Telecommunication Engineering, and many MS and PhD programs. Only post-qualification experience counts.

  • Minimum 16 years of education in a applicable field such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Telecommunication Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Acceptable degrees include BS, MS, MPhil, and PhD in fields like Software Engineering, Information Security, Digital Forensics, Network Security, and Systems Engineering.
  • A in-depth set of eligible qualifications is in the ad, covering over 50 particular degree titles.
  • Only experience gained after finishing 16 years of education will be considered.
  • Age limit: maximum 50 years.

Role Responsibilities

  • Record and classify received incidents and restore failed IT solutions as rapid as doable.
  • Assign unresolved incidents to the right back group.
  • Log all incident and solution request details, allocating categorization and prioritization codes.
  • Maintain customers informed about their incidents’ status at agreed intervals.
  • Associate incidents with other records such as alters, obstacles, understanding articles, and known errors.
  • Do first-line investigation and diagnosis of all incidents and offering requests.
  • Verify resolution with visitors and close incidents in the ITSM tool.
  • Escalate major incidents to the Incident and/or Challenge Manager, and escalate incidents at risk of breaching Solution Level Agreements.
