Job Overview

This is a senior faculty position within the Department of General Surgery at Sheikh Zayed Post Graduate Medical Institute, a leading public-sector postgraduate medical institution in Lahore.

The role involves teaching, training, and supervising postgraduate residents and medical students, as well as conducting research and contributing to academic administration.

The appointee will be expected to uphold the institute's standards of surgical education and patient care.

Eligibility and Qualification

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria as specified by the institute

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by PM&DC, or M.Sc. from a recognized university in the relevant subject for non-medical graduates.
  • Postgraduate qualification such as D.Sc., Ph.D., FCPS, MD, MS, M.Phil in the respective subject, or equivalent recognized by PM&DC.
  • At least 5 years teaching experience as Assistant Professor in the respective subject in a Postgraduate Institute, OR 8 years teaching experience as Assistant Professor in an undergraduate medical institution.
  • Must have produced at least three research papers, or at least five research papers if teaching experience is in an undergraduate institution.
  • Domicile: Sindh (Rural).
  • Age limit: Maximum 50 years (Federal Age Relaxation Rules apply).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures and conduct clinical demonstrations in General Surgery for postgraduate and undergraduate students.
  • Supervise and assess residents in surgical procedures and patient management.
  • Guide research projects and publish papers in recognized medical journals.
  • Participate in departmental academic activities, examinations, and curriculum development.
  • Perform surgical duties and patient care as assigned by the institute.
