The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) is hiring an Awareness and Outreach Specialist to lead efforts in bringing unregistered small and medium enterprises into the formal fold.
This role sits within the board's broader digital initiatives, supporting SMEDA's mission to broaden the SME data pool across Pakistan.
The specialist will be the bridge between the authority and the business community, using data-driven outreach to achieve registration targets.
Day-to-day, the role involves gathering and categorising data on unregistered SMEs, reaching out to them directly, and coordinating with Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and sectoral associations.
The specialist will also apply modern research tools to identify gaps in the MSME landscape and adapt successful practices from comparable countries.
This is a contract position that demands a mix of analytical thinking and field-level engagement, with a clear focus on measurable registration outcomes.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years of education) in Business Administration, Development Studies, Economics, International Relations, Management, Project Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Management Sciences, Administrative Sciences, Business and Management Sciences, Management Info…
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Age between 24 and 45 years.
- Both male and female candidates are eligible.
- Domicile is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Data gathering, categorisation and enlisting of sector-wise unregistered SMEs using available data reservoirs.
- Targeting enlisted SMEs to reach out to them for registration on SMERP.
- Meeting monthly, quarterly and annual registration targets as set in the Communication Strategy & Business Plan.
- Reaching out to Chambers of Commerce and Industries (CCI), sectoral associations and other data centres to broaden SMEDA's SME data pool.
- Leveraging modern research tools and techniques to identify missing data sets across the MSME landscape in Pakistan.
- Applying best practices from countries/states of similar settings that have achieved universal MSME registration.
- Any other relevant task assigned from time to time by the Authority.
