Job Overview

The Communication Cum Coordination Officer will sit within the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Astore, Gilgit Baltistan, operating under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.

The role is central to shaping how the PMU and its partners communicate with the public, media, and stakeholders.

You will be responsible for building and executing a communications strategy that aligns with the organisation's objectives and target audiences.

Day-to-day work involves writing and editing a range of materials, from press releases and website content to annual reports and speeches.

You will also handle media relations, respond to inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson.

The position requires maintaining a media database, tracking coverage, and using analytics to measure impact.

You will coordinate publicity events and work closely with the Project Director, the Ministry, and the Federal Directorate of Education to ensure consistent messaging.

This is a contract role that demands both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

You will need to manage competing priorities, handle conflicts as they arise, and escalate issues to management when necessary.

Proficiency in design and publishing software is essential, as you will be expected to produce polished, professional content across multiple platforms.

Eligibility and Qualification

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria

  • Master in Arts (MA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Age limit: maximum 62 years
  • Domicile quota: Open

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and collaborate with PD/MOFEPT/FDE to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on target audience
  • Write, edit, and distribute content including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material
  • Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the organization
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain a media database
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand and coordinate publicity events as required
  • Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics
  • Manage conflict as it arises and escalate to management
