Job Overview
The Communication Cum Coordination Officer will sit within the Project Management Unit (PMU) in Skardu, operating under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
The role is central to shaping how the PMU communicates with the public, media, and stakeholders in Gilgit Baltistan.
You will work closely with the Project Director and other wings of the Ministry to ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
Day-to-day, you will write and edit press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other materials that explain the PMU's activities and services.
You will also respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson.
Building and maintaining relationships with journalists is a key part of the job, as is tracking media coverage and measuring its impact.
This is a hands-on communications role that also requires coordination skills.
You will manage publicity events, handle conflicts as they arise, and escalate issues to management when needed.
Proficiency in design and publishing software is expected, so you can produce polished, professional content in-house.
Eligibility and Qualification
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria
- Master in Arts (MA) or Master of Business Administration (MBA)
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Maximum age limit: 62 years
- Domicile quota: Open
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and collaborate with PD/MOFEPT/FDE to develop and implement an effective communications strategy based on the target audience
- Write, edit, and distribute content including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, speeches, and other marketing material
- Respond to media inquiries, arrange interviews, and act as a spokesperson for the organization
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain a media database
- Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand and coordinate publicity events as required
- Maintain records of media coverage and collate analytics and metrics
- Manage conflict as it arises and escalate to management
