The Punjab Education Initiatives Management Authority (PEIMA) is hiring a Data Analyst to support its Monitoring & Evaluation wing in Lahore.
This is a contract position under the PEIMA project, focused on turning raw education data into decisions that shape program delivery.
You will work with large datasets drawn from school and initiative-level operations, building reports and dashboards that track performance and flag problems early.
The role sits at the intersection of data engineering and policy insight, so you will not just run queries but also interpret what the numbers mean for ongoing education reforms.
Day-to-day, you will clean and model data, automate routine analysis with Python or R, and present findings to colleagues who may not have a technical background.
Because the authority runs multiple initiatives, your work will directly influence how resources are allocated and whether targets are met.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can move between SQL, visualization tools, and stakeholder conversations without losing accuracy.
If you have built dashboards in Power BI or Tableau and know your way around ETL pipelines, this role offers a chance to apply those skills in the public education sector.
Eligibility and Qualification
To be eligible for this Data Analyst role, candidates must meet the following criteria
- Master’s degree or 16 years of qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Sciences, Information Technology, or a related field from an HEC-recognized national or foreign university.
- At least five (05) years of verifiable relevant post-qualification experience in public/private sectors.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and automation.
- Excellent understanding of data modeling, reporting, and ETL concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience with machine learning basics and forecasting models.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks.
- Domicile is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI or Tableau to monitor education initiative performance.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
- Clean, transform, and model data to support accurate analysis and reporting.
- Automate routine data processes using Python or R scripts.
- Apply machine learning basics and forecasting models to predict trends and support planning.
- Collaborate with program teams to understand data needs and translate complex findings into actionable insights.
- Ensure data quality and consistency across reports and datasets.
- Support ETL processes and data pipeline maintenance.
- Work with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) as required.
