The Finance Division, Government of Pakistan is hiring an Infrastructure & System Engineer (MP-I) to support the national Raast payment system integration.
This contract role is central to ensuring that government entities are technically ready for high-volume, real-time payment processing.
You will review existing hosting, network, and platform environments, identify performance and security gaps, and recommend improvements to meet operational and regulatory standards.
Your work will directly shape how government departments connect to Raast.
You will define infrastructure standards for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability, and develop reference architectures and checklists for secure deployment.
You will also provide hands-on guidance during integration, covering network security, API gateway configuration, and secure connectivity, and conduct validation and certification before entities go live.
Collaboration is key.
You will liaise with the State Bank of Pakistan, hosting data centers, and government IT teams to ensure stable connectivity and compliance.
You will also work with solution architects, business analysts, and vendors to align infrastructure designs with Raast goals.
Documentation, monitoring, and incident resolution are part of the role, as are audits, vulnerability assessments, and stress testing.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- 9 years of professional experience in system administration, network architecture, and/or database management, ideally in high-volume or real-time payment environments.
- Demonstrated experience with cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.
- Experience managing or supporting high-volume transaction systems and large-scale government or financial platforms.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure security, resilience, and disaster recovery planning.
- Age limit: Max 62 years.
Responsibilities
- Review existing hosting, network, and platform environments of government entities seeking Raast integration.
- Assess infrastructure readiness for high-volume, real-time payment processing, identifying gaps in performance, availability, security, and scalability.
- Recommend improvements to network, storage, server, and database configurations to meet operational and regulatory requirements.
- Define and enforce infrastructure standards covering high availability and redundancy, disaster recovery and business continuity, and performance and scalability for high-volume transactions.
- Develop reference architectures, guidelines, and checklists for secure and resilient deployment of Raast integration components.
- Support government entities during integration by providing hands-on guidance in network security (firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention) and API gateway configuration and secure connectivity.
- Conduct infrastructure validation and certification for entities prior to live onboarding.
- Liaise with all stakeholders (including SBP, hosting data centers, and government IT teams) to ensure seamless connectivity, network stability, and compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.
- Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, and vendors to align infrastructure designs with overall Raast integration goals.
- Maintain documentation of infrastructure designs, operational procedures, and incident resolution records for governance and audit purposes.
