Job Overview

The Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Establishment of Masstransit System in Gujranwala & Faisalabad is looking for an Internal Auditor to strengthen financial oversight during the project's implementation.

This is a project-based role within a government-funded initiative, so the auditor will work closely with public sector financial regulations and accountability frameworks.

The Internal Auditor will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising internal audit activities across the PMU.

This includes reviewing financial transactions, procurement records, and contract disbursements to ensure transparency and proper utilization of project funds.

The role also involves preparing audit reports, identifying risks or irregularities, and recommending corrective actions.

Coordination with external auditors is a key part of the job, ensuring alignment with government audit procedures and relevant laws.

The auditor will also support management in developing risk mitigation strategies and strengthening financial governance within the project.

This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a major public infrastructure project in Punjab.

Eligibility and Qualification

Candidates must meet the following minimum qualification and experience criteria

• Bachelor (Honors) in Accounting / Finance / Commerce / Economics / or equivalent
• 10 years of overall relevant experience in Audit, preferably in public sector
• PIPFA/SAS/SRAS qualified will be preferred
• Age: 28 – 70 years
• Gender: Both
• Domicile is required for this position

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise internal audit activities within the Project Management Unit (PMU)
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and public sector accountability standards
• Review financial transactions, procurement records, and contract disbursements to ensure transparency and proper utilization of project funds
• Prepare audit reports, identify risks or irregularities, and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate with external auditors and ensure alignment with government audit procedures and relevant laws
• Support management in developing risk mitigation strategies and strengthening financial governance
