Job Overview
This is a contract position under the Government of Pakistan, and the officer will be responsible for integrating geographic information systems into the project's monitoring and evaluation framework.
The role focuses on building and managing GIS applications that respond to evolving project needs.
The officer will oversee the planning and coordination of all GIS activities, ensure data quality, and maintain accurate geospatial documentation.
This includes performing data capture and analysis, managing the geospatial database, and producing maps and aerial photography to support project decisions.
Working closely with the Project Director, the GIS Specialist will also contribute to the project work plan and stay current with developments in the GIS field.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- MS Information Technology (MSIT) from a recognized university.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects.
- Domicile quota is open to all applicants.
- Maximum age limit is 62 years.
Responsibilities
- Support and develop GIS applications based on growing project demands.
- Oversee planning and coordination of GIS activities to meet project goals.
- Develop and manage quality control standards for system applications.
- Perform data capture and analysis for GIS products.
- Oversee data flow, management, and distribution activities supporting GIS.
- Participate in designing and developing the geospatial database.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate geospatial documentation.
- Stay abreast of latest developments in the GIS field.
- Support development of the project work plan.
- Efficiently manage geospatial database and develop effective maps and aerial photography.
