This contract position sits within the Project Management Unit (PMU) at Haveli Kahuta, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training.
The role combines IT monitoring with specialized Geographic Information System (GIS) expertise to support project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
The officer will be responsible for developing and managing GIS applications, overseeing geospatial data flows, and ensuring that project monitoring activities are backed by accurate, up-to-date spatial information.
The GIS Specialist will work closely with project leadership to align GIS activities with project goals, maintain quality standards for system applications, and contribute to the design and development of the geospatial database.
This includes performing data capture and analysis, producing effective maps and aerial photography, and keeping comprehensive geospatial documentation.
The role also involves staying current with developments in the GIS field and supporting the development of project work plans.
As part of the PMU, the officer will report to the Project Director (PD) and may be assigned additional duties as needed.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- MS in Information Technology (MS IT)
- 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring & evaluation of projects
- Maximum age limit: 62 years
- Domicile quota: Open
Responsibilities
- Support and develop the management of GIS applications based on growing project demands
- Oversee planning and coordination of GIS activities to meet project goals
- Develop and manage control quality standards for system applications
- Perform data capture and analysis for GIS products

- Stay abreast of the latest developments in the GIS field
