Job Overview

The Project Management Unit (PMU) in Skardu, under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, is hiring an IT Cum Monitoring Officer with GIS specialization.

This contract position supports the unit's project monitoring and evaluation functions by applying geospatial technology to track progress, manage data, and produce maps and aerial photography for project planning and reporting.

The officer will develop and manage GIS applications tailored to evolving project needs, oversee data flow and quality, and maintain an accurate geospatial database.

The role also involves coordinating GIS activities, preparing documentation, and staying current with GIS developments.

The officer will contribute to the project work plan and perform any other duties assigned by the Project Director.

Eligibility and Qualification

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria

  • MS in Information Technology (MS IT)
  • 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring & evaluation of projects
  • Maximum age limit: 62 years
  • Domicile quota: Open

Responsibilities

  • Support and develop the development and management of GIS applications based on growing and improving project demands
  • Oversee the planning and coordination of GIS activities to meet the outlined goals of the project
  • Develop and manage control quality standards for system application
  • Perform data capture and analysis for GIS product
  • Oversee data flow, management, and distribution activities that are aimed at supporting GIS
  • Support and participate in the designing and development of the geospatial database
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate geospatial documentation for reference purposes
  • Stay up to date or abreast with the latest developments in the GIS field
  • Give support in the development of a work plan for the project
  • Efficiently manage geospatial database and develop effective maps and aerial photography
