Job Description

The National IT Board (NITB) is hiring a Geomatics Specialist on a contract basis for the SII Digital Twin platform in Islamabad. This PPS-10 role centers on leading geomatics, GIS, remote sensing, and IT operations.

you’ll supervise spatial figures acquisition from satellite, LiDAR, drone, and GPS sources, working carefully with CDA survey teams. The position involves developing and keeping up spatial databases, enterprise GIS systems, and 3D city model layers.

you’ll also run GIS web dashboards, mobile resources, and geospatial portal integrations with the Fusion Center. Collaboration with agencies like CDA, Survey of Pakistan, and WASA is central. This role suits experienced geospatial professionals who desire to shape a major urban digital twin initiative.

Salary & Compensation

Estimated marketplace salary: PKR 120,000 – 250,000 per month.

Qualification

Applicants must grip a BS or MS (16 years education) in Space Sciences, GIS, Geomatics, Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, or related fields from the extensive set. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is needed. Maximum age is 50 years (age relaxation already included).

  • BS/MS in Space Sciences, GIS, Geomatics, Software Engineering, Computer Sciences, or related disciplines (16 years education).
  • Accepted degrees include BS Computer Science, BS Remote Sensing & GIS, BS Software Engineering, BS Space Sciences, BS Geographical Details System, BS Geo-Informatics, and many more.
  • Master's degrees such as MSc Computer Science, MS Remote Sensing, MPhil Geomatics, MS Info Technology, and PhDs in applicable fields are also eligible.
  • Minimum 10 years of expert experience in geomatics, GIS, or related spheres.
  • Maximum age limit: 50 years (age relaxation previously applied).
  • Experience with spatial information acquisition (satellite, LiDAR, drone, GPS) and enterprise GIS systems is essential.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and handle all geomatics, GIS, remote sensing, and IT operations for the SII Digital Twin platform.

  • Develop and uphold spatial databases, enterprise GIS systems, and 3D city model layers on the SII platform.
  • Conduct procedure re-engineering for geospatial workflows to improve efficiency, transparency, and sidestep data duplication.
  • Guarantee figures standard, accuracy, standardisation, and compliance with Pak-NSDI and SDI policies.
  • Manage spatial analysis, 3D city model updates, urban simulations, and map creation activities.
  • Oversee GIS web-based dashboards, mobile GIS instruments, and geospatial portal integrations with the Fusion Center.
  • Integrate geospatial systems with urban planning, land records, utilities, and infrastructure databases.
