Job Description
The National IT Board (NITB), Government of Pakistan, invites submissions for the position of Project Director on a contract basis. This role is key in leading the Clever Islamabad Initiative, a flagship project aimed at transforming the capital into a digitally integrated sharp city.
The Project Director will supervise all aspects of project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery, securing alignment with PSDP guidelines and stakeholder expectations. The position is set in Islamabad and reports to senior government officials.
Best-suited for experienced project management professionals with a sturdy background in large-scale, technology-driven public sector projects. The work domain demands targeted leadership, stakeholder coordination, and rigorous compliance with procurement and reporting standards.
Salary & Compensation
Estimated marketplace salary: PKR 120,000 – 250,000 per month.
Qualification
Candidates must keep a Master's degree (16 years of education) in Computer Science, Data Technology, Management Sciences, or a tightly related field from a recognized university.
A minimum of 15 years of professional experience is called for, with at least 5 years as Project Director on PSDP-funded projects, managing a minimum of 3 such projects. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Master's degree (16 years) in Computer Science, IT, Management Sciences, or related fields such as MBA (IT), MS Computer Science, PhD in IT, etc.
- Minimum 15 years of skilled experience.
- At least 5 years of experience as Project Director on PSDP-funded projects.
- Managed at least 3 PSDP projects successfully.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
- Age limit: Maximum 55 years (age relaxation by now included).
- Grade: PPS-11 (Contract).
Role Responsibilities
- Lead overall project planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of the Intelligent Islamabad Initiative.
- Coordinate with stakeholders covering NITB, Ministry of IT & Telecom, NTC, CDA, EPA, and system integrators.
- Manage all Project Management Unit (PMU) workforce and handle project threats.
- Make sure documentation, procurement compliance, and PSDP reporting.
- Chair Project Execution Unit (PIU) meetings and represent the project to senior government officials.
- Oversee project budget, timelines, and standard standards.
