Job Description
The Punjab Enforcement & Regulatory Authority (PERA) is hiring a Team Lead Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning to lead its sovereign AI initiative.
This role is set in Lahore and centers on deploying entirely area, on-premises AI capabilities to comply with Government of Punjab information residency policy—no records may reside on international cloud servers.
you’ll architect, deploy, and operationalize a nearby Sizable Language Model (LLM) infrastructure on PERA's own GPU-equipped figures center hardware.
This covers building a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) structure, training/fine-tuning models on proprietary datasets. Exposing AI capabilities via internal APIs for integration with PERA's present software stack.
The scope also covers computer vision (video-based object detection), audio intelligence (transcription, keyword spotting), analytics, forecasting, and predictive modeling—all running entirely on area infrastructure.
Salary & Compensation
Estimated marketplace salary: PKR 250,000 – 400,000 per month.
Qualification
Applicants must grip a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science.. AI.. Information Science.. Software Engineering, which is why or equivalent from a recognized university.. With a minimum of 6 years of hands-on machine learning and AI development experience (8 years preferred). A First Division (60% and above) is required.

Role Responsibilities
- Design and procure GPU hardware specifications for PERA's on-premises AI figures center (NVIDIA A100/H100 or equivalent).
- Install, configure, and uphold the complete nearby AI stack: CUDA, cuDNN, drivers, and inference runtimes (Ollama, vLLM, llama.cpp).
- Deploy and manage open-source foundation models (LLaMA 3, Mistral, Qwen) entirely on local hardware with zero information egress.
- Carry out model quantization (GGUF, GPTQ, AWQ) for simple inference in GPU VRAM constraints.
- Design and put in place a production-grade RAG pipeline using LangChain or LlamaIndex with a area vector database (Qdrant, ChromaDB, or Weaviate).
- Fine-tune foundation models on PERA-specific datasets using LoRA/QLoRA and maintain a Model Registry for versioning and lifecycle management.
- Develop and expose AI capabilities as secure RESTful APIs (FastAPI /.NET Core) for integration with FRMS, PERA360, HRMIS, and other platforms.
- Deploy and fine-tune object detection models (YOLOv8/v10) for video-based surveillance and create real-time/batch video analysis pipelines.
