Job Overview
The Senior Officer IT will be responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure at Pakistan Railways Headquarter Office.
This includes overseeing Windows Server environments, LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networks, and Microsoft 365 services such as Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
The role also covers VPN and networking, file servers, centralized storage, and backup & recovery systems.
The officer will handle IT procurement and the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software.
Experience in public sector, railway, infrastructure, engineering consultancy, or World Bank-funded projects is preferred.
The position may also involve any other tasks assigned by the Competent Authority.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- BS Computer Science (BSCS), BS Software Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BE Computer Science, BE Computer Systems Engineering, BE Software Engineering, BSc Software Engineering, Bachelors of Computer Engineering, Bachelors of Computer Science, BE Computers Systems and Software Engineering, or …
- Minimum five (05) years post-qualification experience in IT Support, Network/Hardware Administration, or Office Systems Management
- Experience in Windows Server environment, LAN/WAN & Wi-Fi networks, Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint), VPN and networking, file servers & centralized storage, backup & recovery systems, IT procurement, and installation, configuration & maintenance
- Age limit: Max 45 years
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows Server environments
- Administer LAN/WAN and Wi-Fi networks
- Support Microsoft 365 services including Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint
- Configure and manage VPN and networking
- Oversee file servers and centralized storage
- Implement and manage backup & recovery systems
- Handle IT procurement processes
- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the Competent Authority
