Job Description
The Urban Unit, a planning and research organisation under the Planning and Development Board of Punjab, is looking for a Research Analyst GIS to support field survey activities and spatial records management.
This contract position is set in Lahore and involves coordinating survey teams, securing data standard, and keeping up geographic datasets. The role suits professionals with a background in Geographical Information Systems, Space Science, Geography, or Geo-informatics who have hands-on experience in field surveys and GIS analysis.
you’ll perform tightly with field enumerators and supervisors to validate data, resolve discrepancies, and get ready progress reports. The position provides an opening to contribute to urban planning projects that rely on exact spatial data.
Salary & Compensation
Estimated market salary: PKR 70,000 – 150,000 per month.
Qualification
Applicants must have 16 years of education (Masters/Bachelors Hons) in Geographical Information System (GIS), Space Science, Geography, Geo-informatics, or a related discipline from an HEC-recognised institution. A minimum of 2 years of applicable experience is needed.
- Years of education in GIS, Space Science, Geography, Geo-informatics, or related field from HEC-recognised institution.
- MS/M-Phil (18 years) with 2 years of related experience.
- Masters/Bachelors Hons (16 years) with 2 years of applicable experience.
- Degree field must be Geographical Info System (GIS) or Space Sciences.
- Age limit: 18 to 35 years.
- Domicile of Punjab is called for.
Role Responsibilities
- Arrange and back field survey activities as per approved methodologies.
- Confirm timely uploading and submission of parcel and survey information through designated systems.
- Verify completeness, accuracy, and consistency of survey figures collected by field teams.
- Run field visits for records validation, caliber assurance, and discrepancy resolution.
- Liaise with field enumerators, supervisors, and stakeholders for even survey operations.
- Keep up records of survey progress and arrange periodic status reports.
- Assist in planning, monitoring, and tracking day-to-day survey targets.
- Aid training and guidance of field staff on survey procedures and information collection protocols.
