Job Overview
The Project Management Unit (PMU) for the Establishment of Masstransit System in Gujranwala & Faisalabad is looking for an Assistant Auditor to strengthen its internal audit function.
This is a project-based role within a government initiative, so the work centers on ensuring that public funds are spent transparently and in line with financial regulations.
You will be responsible for planning, executing, and supervising internal audit activities across the PMU.
That means reviewing financial transactions, procurement records, and contract disbursements to confirm they comply with internal controls and public sector accountability standards.
You will also prepare audit reports, flag risks or irregularities, and recommend corrective actions.
The role involves coordinating with external auditors and making sure the PMU's practices align with government audit procedures and relevant laws.
You will support management in developing risk mitigation strategies and strengthening financial governance, and you will assist the Internal Auditor in executing audit-related matters.
It is a contract role, so you will be engaged for the duration of the project rather than on a permanent government scale.
Eligibility and Qualification
To be eligible for this Assistant Auditor position, you must meet the following criteria
- Master's degree in any discipline (16 years of education) with 7 years of overall relevant experience in audit, preferably in the public sector.
- PIPFA/SAS/SRAS qualified candidates will be preferred.
- Required skill: SAS.
- Domicile is required for this position.
- Age limit: 24 to 70 years.
- Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible.
Responsibilities
