The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) is hiring an Assistant Director who will work as a GIS Developer.
This role sits within the authority's technical wing, which is responsible for digitizing and maintaining land records across the province.
The developer will design, build, and maintain GIS applications and spatial databases that support the authority's core operations.
Day-to-day work involves developing both web and desktop GIS applications, managing spatial data, and creating interactive maps and dashboards.
The developer will integrate GIS services with enterprise systems using REST APIs, perform spatial analysis, and automate workflows with Python.
Collaboration with survey teams and business stakeholders is a regular part of the job, as is troubleshooting spatial data issues and optimizing database performance.
The role is technical and hands-on, requiring proficiency across a wide range of GIS platforms and programming languages.
The selected candidate will contribute directly to the reliability and accessibility of Punjab's land record systems.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- Education: BSCS, BS-GIS, BS-Space Science, MCS, MS-GIS, or MS-Space Science (4 years) – Masters/Bachelors (Hons) with 16 years of education.
- Experience: 3 years of relevant experience.
- Age: 24 to 34 years.
- Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible.
- Domicile: Domicile is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain GIS web and desktop applications.
- Design, manage, and optimize spatial databases.
- Process, validate, and analyze geospatial datasets.
- Develop interactive web maps and dashboards.
- Integrate GIS services with enterprise applications and REST APIs.
- Perform spatial analysis and geoprocessing.
- Import/export GIS data (Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, GeoTIFF, GDB).
- Publish and consume GIS web services (WMS, WFS, WMTS, Feature & Map Services).
- Automate GIS workflows using Python.
- Optimize GIS application and database performance.
