Job Overview
The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) is hiring an Assistant Director Software Quality Assurance to lead QA efforts within its Lahore-based team.
This role sits at the heart of the authority's system development lifecycle, ensuring that land record management software meets strict quality benchmarks before release.
You will work within an Agile environment, collaborating with designers, project managers, and software engineers to translate requirements into testable specifications.
The position demands both hands-on testing and strategic oversight—designing test plans, automating regression scenarios, and tracking quality metrics like defect densities and open defect counts.
As Assistant Director, you will also monitor all stages of system development to identify and resolve malfunctions, ensuring adherence to PLRA policies.
You have the authority to take corrective action, with approval, to fix bugs and performance issues within your scope, and you will provide input on development timelines and resource allocation.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following criteria
- Education: BSCS, MCS, or BCS (4 years) from a recognized university.
- Degree Area: Computer Engineering/Sciences.
- Experience: Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years) with 3 year(s) of relevant experience.
- Age: 24 to 34 years.
- Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible.
- Domicile: Domicile is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Participate in sprint planning to review requirements and specifications, providing details to ensure test coverage.
- Build, recommend, and maintain frameworks to automate test scenarios.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Convert manual regression scenarios into automated test cases.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities during the SDLC.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and document issues thoroughly during bug tracking.
- Perform functional and non-functional testing to support the development team.
- Document software issues and enhancement requests, assisting development with concise steps for duplication of defects.
- Act as a stand-alone QA lead, defining tasks to start QA efforts in an Agile team.
