Job Overview
The Punjab Land Record Authority (PLRA) is hiring a Deputy Director Software Quality Assurance to lead QA efforts for its land record systems.
This role sits within the authority's software development wing, which builds and maintains the digital infrastructure that manages property records across Punjab.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all software releases meet quality standards before they reach end-users, which includes developing test strategies, automating test scripts, and coordinating with development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
Your day-to-day work will involve designing and maintaining automated test frameworks, converting manual regression tests into automated ones, and performing both functional and non-functional testing.
You will also participate in Agile ceremonies like sprint planning, where you will review requirements and specifications to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Beyond testing, you will provide technical guidance to developers, mentor junior engineers, and recommend adjustments to resolve software issues, all while ensuring that system development adheres to PLRA policies and procedures.
This is a senior technical position that requires both hands-on testing expertise and the ability to act independently.
You will have the authority to take corrective action, based on approval, to fix software bugs and performance issues within your scope.
The role also involves documenting software issues and enhancement requests, and assisting development teams with detailed steps to reproduce defects found during manual, integration, and regression testing.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria
- Education: BSCS, MCS, BCS (4 Years) or Masters/Bachelors (Hons) (16 years) in Computer Engineering/Sciences.
- Experience: 5 years of relevant experience.
- Age: 25 to 40 years.
- Gender: Both male and female candidates are eligible.
- Domicile: Domicile is required for this position.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using various tools and frameworks.
- Build, recommend, and maintain appropriate frameworks to automate test scenarios.
- Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Convert manual regression scenarios to automated test cases.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities during the SDLC.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, project managers, and software engineers, to understand software requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and document issues thoroughly during bug tracking.
- Perform functional and non-functional testing to support the development team.
- Stay up-to-date with new technologies, quality standards, and industry trends.
- Document software issues and enhancement requests, and assist development with concise and detailed steps for duplication of defects found during manual, functional, integration, and regression tests.
