Job Overview

The Irrigation Department Sakro Division Mirpur Sakro is recruiting for a range of field and support positions essential to the operation and maintenance of irrigation infrastructure in the Thatta region.

These roles support water regulation, canal maintenance, and the safe operation of motor launches and other equipment.

The department is part of the Sindh government's Irrigation Department, which manages water resources and canal systems across the province.

Successful candidates will contribute to the efficient delivery of irrigation services, ensuring that water reaches agricultural lands and that infrastructure remains in good working order.

Eligibility and Qualification

Candidates must meet the following educational requirements as specified in the advertisement

Responsibilities

  • Darogha: Supervise irrigation staff and oversee the regulation of water flow in canals and distributaries.
  • Regulation Beldar: Assist in the manual operation of canal gates and regulators to control water distribution.
  • Beldar: Perform manual labor for maintenance of canals, embankments, and related structures.
  • Security Guard / Chowkidar: Guard departmental premises, equipment, and installations against theft or damage.
  • Khalasi: Provide general assistance to technical staff in field operations and maintenance tasks.
  • Motor Launch Attendant / Boat Man: Operate and maintain departmental boats and motor launches for water-based inspections and transport.
  • Gauge Reader: Record water levels at designated gauge stations and report data to supervisory staff.
  • Naib Qasid: Carry official documents and perform clerical support duties within the office.
  • Sweeper: Maintain cleanliness of office buildings and premises.
  • Driver: Operate departmental vehicles for official transport of staff and materials.
