Job Overview
The Project Implementation Unit of the Improving Workforce Readiness in Punjab Project is hiring an Assistant Director (Technical Content) for a contract position based in Lahore. This is a single vacancy at PPS-7 level with a monthly salary of PKR 160,000 to 260,000. The role focuses on technical content development within the TVET sector, requiring close engagement with curriculum design, training systems, and policy recommendations.
The position is open to both genders, with an age limit of 35 to 50 years, and only candidates with Lahore domicile are eligible.
Eligibility and Qualification
- Minimum Bachelor's degree (16 years of education) in Education, Public Policy, or a suitable discipline; Master's degree preferred.
- At least eight (8) years of experience after acquiring the stipulated qualification.
- First division (60% and above) in the required degree.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, specifically technical content development; preferably in the public sector.
- Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
- Excellent IT/computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
- Preference for candidates with experience in foreign-funded projects, overseas relevant experience, or experience with international organizations and government institutions.
- Extensive experience in providing strategic advice and developing public policies.
- Ability to engage with a cross-section of stakeholders in the public and private sectors.
- Age: Up to 50 years.
Responsibilities
- Assess the formal and non-formal labor market and the socioeconomic framework conditions related to education.
- Evaluate current TVET systems, including skills training, for relevance to social and economic objectives, market demands, effectiveness in meeting training objectives, and efficiency in resource use.
- Provide information on training and education activities and the learning ecosystem.
- Assess current training facilities and equipment at TVET institutes and propose recommendations to operationalize state-of-the-art Centers of Excellence (COEs).
- Review curricula, teaching methods, and learning and teaching materials related to TVET.
- Assess training needs for vocational and technical teachers and trainers.
- Review possibilities for introducing mobile, flexible, short training programs and recommend delivery mechanisms.
- Recommend strategies to provide training and education for youth and adults, establishing a system of lifelong learning.
- Collect sample tracer studies of students graduated from vocational training under the TVET system and graduates from COEs.
- Support peer-review and assessment of curriculum design and provide recommendations for improvement of the curriculum framework, particularly technical content development, followed by TVET institutes and CBTA education, including the National Vocational Qualifications Framework (NVQF).
