Job Overview
The Privatisation Commission, a key department of the Government of Pakistan, is hiring an Advisor Transactions on a contract basis in 2026. This senior role, classified as Grade T-1, is responsible for providing strategic leadership across the entire privatisation lifecycle of assigned state-owned entities, from initial asset onboarding through to transaction closure.
The Advisor Transactions will ensure that all privatisation processes align with Cabinet-approved policies and timelines, making this a critical position for the country's economic reform agenda.
Eligibility and Qualification
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field from an HEC-recognized university, or possess a professional certification such as CPA, FCMA, FCA, FCCA, CIMA, or CFA.
This combination of academic and professional qualifications ensures the Advisor Transactions has the necessary financial and strategic expertise to manage complex privatisation transactions.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the insurance industry, financial sector, mergers & acquisitions, regulatory affairs, or the power sector.
- International qualifications/experience and recent experience in similar-level positions in other organizations are preferred.
- Maximum age limit is 62 years.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the end-to-end privatisation lifecycle of assigned entities, from asset onboarding to transaction closure, in line with Cabinet-approved policies and timelines.
- Oversee and validate comprehensive due diligence (legal, financial, technical, and operational), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and investor readiness of all transaction inputs.
- Supervise and guide transaction advisors, legal counsel, technical consultants, and valuers, ensuring quality, accountability, and compliance with Commission standards.
- Lead transaction structuring, approve transaction strategies, and engage with domestic and international investors to assess market appetite and optimize outcomes.
- Review, finalize, and clear key transaction documents, including EOIs, RFPs, bidding packages, SPAs/JVAs, and Cabinet summaries.
- Liaise with line ministries, regulators, SOEs, and oversight bodies to resolve bottlenecks and ensure inter-institutional alignment.
- Monitor transaction progress through dashboards and management reports, providing strategic guidance and timely updates to senior leadership.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the competent authority from time to time.
