Job Overview

The Privatisation Commission, a key department of the Government of Pakistan, is recruiting a Contract Chief Legal Officer for 2026 under Grade T-3. As the Chief Legal Officer, you will provide strategic legal leadership, ensuring that all privatization activities comply with national laws and regulations while protecting the Commission's interests.

Eligibility and Qualification

Candidates must hold an LLB or LLM degree from a recognized institution.

While the core requirement is a law degree, practical experience in contracts, litigation, corporate law, or negotiations is strongly preferred, as is international exposure or recent experience in similar high-level positions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal oversight of all privatization transactions, including review and approval of legal structures, documentation, and contractual frameworks.
  • Ensure comprehensive legal due diligence, proactively identify legal risks, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and sectoral authorities.
  • Manage and oversee litigation involving the Commission, coordinating with internal and external counsel to ensure effective case management and favorable outcomes.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key transaction documents, including SPAs, concession agreements, and PPP contracts, and vet submissions for the Board, CCoP, and other forums.
  • Supervise external legal advisors and coordinate with the litigation function on legal exposure, case backlog, and risk mitigation.
  • Provide legal input on policy, legislative, and regulatory matters affecting privatization, and advise senior management on legal and governance issues.
  • Lead and build capacity of the internal legal team through mentoring and professional development.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the competent authority from time to time.
