The Punjab Enforcement & Regulatory Authority (PERA) is hiring a Database Administrator for its Lahore-based IT department under the PERA Contractual Staff project.
This is a contract position at level SPPP-03, focused on managing and optimizing the authority's database infrastructure.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of databases, data warehouses, and multidimensional databases.
You will work with MS SQL and MySQL, implement cubes and dimensions, and develop reports using predictive modeling and analytics.
The job also involves performance monitoring, backup management using System Center Data Protection Manager, and ensuring data security and availability.
You will support development teams with RDBMS issues, manage database users and permissions, and maintain documentation for database policies.
The role requires hands-on experience with SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, TSQL/PLSQL, and tools like Tableau or MS Power BI.
You will also contribute to AI and machine learning initiatives using Python.
Eligibility and Qualification
To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria
- Bachelor's degree (Hons) in IT, Computer Sciences, Software Engineering, or any other relevant/similar degree from a recognized university (16 years of education).
- 8 years of post-qualification experience in the relevant field, including at least 2 years in the public sector.
- Experience in private entities is acceptable only if the entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or any other Public Sector Regulatory Authority.
- Experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning using Python.
- Experience in MS SQL and MySQL tuning.
- Knowledge of computing and storage systems using System Center Data Protection Manager.
- Experience in data preparation, visualization, analysis, and dashboard development using Tableau or MS Power BI.
- Strong leadership, team building, and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement measures, measure groups, granularity, calculated measures, and aggregate functions.
- Develop reports using prescriptive analytics and predictive modeling using regression, classification, and clustering techniques.
- Configure authentication and authorization for reporting solutions.
- Implement interactivity in reports and configure report data sources and datasets.
- Implementation, management, and maintenance of SQL database server and other storage devices.
- Performance monitoring and tuning of database server and other storage devices.
- Routine maintenance including log management and monitoring.
- Optimization of storage.
