Job Overview

The Punjab Enforcement & Regulatory Authority (PERA) is hiring a Team Lead Backend for its contractual staff in Lahore, Punjab, with applications open in 2026. This role is central to the PERA software ecosystem, responsible for the design, development, performance, and reliability of all server-side systems, APIs, and database components.

The Team Lead will ensure business logic is implemented efficiently in.NET, data is managed robustly in SQL Server via ADO.NET, and backend services are secure, scalable, and production-ready.

The Team Lead Backend will lead the backend team in sprint delivery, conduct code reviews, and enforce quality standards while mentoring developers through pair programming and knowledge transfer.

The role involves architecting secure RESTful APIs with JWT/OAuth authentication, managing database schema design and performance tuning, and integrating third-party services and government system APIs.

The role also requires overseeing Dockerization of backend services and collaborating on CI/CD pipeline configurations, ensuring robust logging, monitoring, and alerting for production systems.

This position is ideal for a senior backend engineer with a strong portfolio of production-grade.NET APIs and SQL Server systems, ready to drive engineering excellence within a government enterprise context.

Applicants for this Team Lead Backend job in Lahore should have a Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent, with at least 8 years of backend development experience, including 4 years in a lead or senior role.

Experience with government or enterprise systems is strongly preferred, and private sector experience is accepted if the entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or any other Public Sector Regulatory Authority.

The role demands deep technical proficiency in ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and AI tools like Claude or Copilot, along with strong analytical thinking and a security-first mindset.
